HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-180 - - ORDINANCE NO , AN ORDINANCE transferring the sum of $250,00 within the 1960 Aper priation for 22 - Fire Department; the sum of $2 within the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery; and the sum of $1 within the 1960 Appropriation for 51 - Irrigation Department; and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS a surplus exists in Account 6-41 Automotive Equipment, of the Capital or Betterment Accounts classification of the 1960 Appropriation for 22 - Fire Department and WHEREAS at the time of the adoption of the 1960 Budget it could not have been reasonably foreseen that additional moneys would be required in Account 7-41 Auto.-Motor Fuel etc. of the Maintenance & Operation classification for the operation of the fire fighting equipment and WHEREAS there is a surplus of money in account 6-02 Land Improve- • ments of the Capital or Betterment classification of the 1960 Appro- priation for 41 - Cemetery and WHEREAS the work that at the time of the adoption of said Budget it was anticipated would be performed by outside contract under said Account 6-02 was performed by City labor forces and as a result thereof insufficient money was appropriated in Account 706 Hourly Labor of the Salaries classification and in Accounts 7-12 Social Security and 7-13 Ind, Insurance & Med© Aid, of the Maintenance & Operation classifi- cation, all in the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery 9 and. WHEREAS surpluses exist in Accounts 7-08 Extra Help of the Salaries classification and 7-43 Structures & Building Repairs, Supplies Etc . of the Maintenance and Operation classification all in the 1960 Appropriation for 51 - Irrigation Department; and WHEREAS work that was originally planned to have been performed IT contract for the construction of a pimp house was actually performed -1- • by the labor forces of the City of Yakima, and insufficient moneys 0 were appropriated to Account 7-06 Hourly Labor, of the Sa1ari.e classification and to Account 7-12 Social Security, of the Maintenance & Operation classification, both in the 1960 Appropriation for 51 Irrigation Department and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the people of the City of Yakima to make the transfers herein pro- vided that an emergency exists and that the action contemplated herein is authorized by R.C.W. 35.330120 now, therefore: DE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1, That the following sum is hereby transferred within the 1960 Appropriation for 22 - Fire Department to-wit: From; Capital or Betterment Accounts S 6-41 Automotive Equipment $250.00 m====== To: Maintenance & Operation 7-41 Auto.-Motor Fuel, etc. IL29° Section 2. That the following sum is hereby transferred within the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery to-wit: From: Capital or Betterment 6-02 Land Improvements Ea1244.22 Tot Salaries 7-06 Hourly Labor • S2 Maintenance & Operation 7-12 Social Security $335.00 7-13 Ind. Insurance & Ned. Aid 80.00 =570 415,090 • Section 3. That the following sums are hereby transferred within .2- , - the 1960 Appropriation for 51 - Irrigation Department, to-wit: 411 Prom Salaries 7-08 Extra Help $ 450.00 Maintenance and Operation 743 Structures & Building Repairs, Supplies Etc, 215.00 on==m=== To Salaries 706 Hourly Labor $1,000.00 Yaintenance & Operation 7-12 Social Security 36 .00 Section 4. The Director of Finance of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to make the foregoing transfers. Section 5 This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate • preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by City Charter.
