HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-183 ORDINANCE NO ________ III AN ORDINANCE transfer b rinv the sum of $150.00 within the 1960 Appropria- tion for 24- Engineering Department, the sum of $2,200.00 within the 1960 Appropriation for 32 - Municipal Garbage, and the sum of $300.00 within the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, a surplus exists in Account 7-08, Extra Help, of the Salaries classification of the 1960 Appropriation for 24 - Engineering Department, and WHEREAS, surpluses exist in Account 7-06, Hourly Labor, of the Salaries classification, and within Accounts 7.43, Building Material & Repair, and 7-46, Equipment Parts & Repair, Etc., of the Maintenance & Operation classification, all within the 1960 Appropriation for 32 Municipal Garbage, and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in Account 6-02, Land Improvements, of 0 the Capital or Betterment classification of the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery, and WHEREAS, unanticipated demands have depleted the supply of printing paper in Account 7-30, Clerical & Office, and unanticipated requirements for travel expense have depleted Account 7-50, Travel, of the Maintenance & Operation classification of the 1960 Appropriation for 2o, - Engineering Department, and WHEREAS, increased maintenance costs have exceeded the anticipated amount appropriated in Account 7-40, Auto.-Parts & Repair, and the statutory requirements for 7-11, Statewide Pension, and 7-12, Social Security, were underest5vated in the 1960 Appropriation for 32- Municipal Garbage, and WHEREAS, extensive maintenance and devoloment work at Tahoma 411 Cemetery not anticipated at the time of the adoption of the 1960 Budget for 41 - Cemetery has depleted Account 7-41, Auto.-Motor Fuel, Etc., of the Maintenance & Operation classification, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the people of the City of Yakima to make the transfers herein pro- vided and an emergency exists and the action contemplated herein is authorized by R.C.W. 35.33.120, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The following sums are hereby transferred within the 1960 Appropriation for 24 - Engineering Department: From: SALARIES 7-08 Extra Help $ 150.00 To: MAINTENANCE & OPERATION 7-30 Clerical & Office $ 100.00 7-50 Travel 50.00 3 Section 2. The following sums are hereby transferred within the 1960 Appropriation for 32 - Municipal Garbage: From: SALARIES 7-06 Hourly Labor 81,000.00 MAINTENANCE & OPERATION • 7-46 Equipment Parts & Repair, Etc. $ 300.00 7-43 Building Material & Repair 400.00 ' 1,200.00 T2 To: MAINTENANCE & CPEI3ATION 7-11 Statewide Pension $ 400.00 7-12 Social Security 1,000.00 7-40 Auto., Parts & Repair 800.00 Tr - WM Section 3. The following sum is hereby transferred within the 1960 Appropriation for 41 - Cemetery: -2- From: • CAPITAL OR BETTERME7 6-02 Land Improvements $300.00 To MAINTENANCE & OPERATION 7 Auto.-Motor Fuel, Etc. 8300.00 Section 4. The Direotor of Finance of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to make the aforesaid transfers. Sectiqa2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
