RESOLUTION NO. R-2025-086
setting the time and place for public hearing on June 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM
for public comment on amending the Transportation Benefit District (TBD)
Project List.
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017 the City Council created a Transportation Benefit
District (TBD); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 2017-002 and identified projects
within the City that constituted transportation improvement needs; and,
WHEREAS, the TBD project list provides for the improvement, maintenance, and
protection of public ways to adequately accommodate existing congestion and anticipated future
congestion; and,
WHEREAS, the preservation and maintenance of the city's transportation infrastructure
are consistent with RCW Chapter 36.73; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima desires to amend the TBD project list to include updates
to projects; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held prior to modifying the project list, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said transportation improvements to be exercised or funded on a modified TBD
project list shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the
hour of 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, or as soon thereafter as the same may be
heard, and the notice of such hearing be given as approved by law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 20th day of May, 2025.

AGENDA STATEMENT
SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
On January 10, 2017 the City of Yakima adopted Ordinance Number 2017-002 and created a
Transportation Benefit District list. Identified was a project list which included transportation improvement
needs. The City of Yakima desires to update the list.
