Place: Council Chambers, City Hall, 129, N. 2nd St. Staff: Connor Kennedy, Associate Planner/ Historic Preservation Liaison I. Call to Order Meeting was called to order at approximately 5:30 P.M. II. Roll Call Commissioners Hall, Bussey, and Mann were present, with Commissioners Edmondson and King absent. III. Approval of Meeting Minutes from 08/21/2024 Meeting minutes were approved unanimously. IV. Staff Announcements None. V. Audience Participation None. VI. New Business Harvest Celebration Committee x Connor Kennedy discussed the commissions’ ability to create committees and city staff capacity to work on these items. x The commission briefly discussed planning a harvest related event and agreed to plan something outside of the public meeting. VII. Old Business i. Naches Ave HOZ – a. Connor described the remaining process for the Naches Ave Historic Overlay Zone project, and discussed future additions to planning staff. VIII. Other Business i. Places Main Street Conference: Commission Members ¢—‘’Šȱ Š••ȱȡȱClayton Bussey ȡȱŠž•ȱ–˜—œ˜— ȡȱJoe Mann ȡ Dawn King a. Commissioner Mann asked staff if there were any updates regarding staff attendance to the Main Street Conference, and explained that he had spoken with City Manager Vicki Baker regarding the event. b. Staff had no substantive update regarding staff participation in the conference. ii. Commissioner Mann discussed an old walking tour pamphlet that had been created by the Historic Preservation Commission some time around 2008. The commission then discussed updating this pamphlet and creating new materials for the Fruit Row district. iii. Commissioner Hall inquired on the status of the 6th Ave. trolley tracks. Commissioner Mann provided some comments regarding editorials he had read on the matter. iv. Commissioner Mann introduced the idea of drafting a letter to Council in support of 6th Ave redesigns that maintain the trolley tracks. Commissioners Bussey and Hall agreed that this would be beneficial and the commission decided to draft a letter that would be in support of either of the redesign options that include the trolley tracks. v. Commission members discussed future ideas for the Fruit Row district. IX. Adjournment A motion to adjourn to October 23, 2024 was passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:55 P.M.
