For Meeting of: September 20, 2016 ITEM TITLE: Resolution declaring surplus rolling stock to be surplus to the needs of the city and authorizing its disposal SUBMITTED BY: City of Yakima Purchasing, Christina Payer, Buyer I SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The City of Yakima owns various rolling stock and heavy equipment for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City. The Water Division has a dump truck that has reached the end of its useful life and has become unreliable. The City desires to dispose of this item in a manner determined to be most beneficial to the City. Under the terms and conditions of the Yakima City Charter, City officials and employees are prohibited from participation in the surplus auction directly, or otherwise, as a buyer or buyer's agent. R -2016- A RESOLUTION Declaring surplus rolling stock from the Equipment Rental Division surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima, and authorizing the City Manager to dispose of them in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima (City) owns various rolling stock for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the City would like to list and sell ER3164, 2003 International dump truck, VIN 1 HTWNADT03J06956, on Public Surplus online auction site for $25,000. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned rolling stock to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima.
