It shall be the responsibility of the tree board to study, investigate, develop, update, and administer a
written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, replanting, removal or disposition of trees and
shrubs in parks, along streets and in other city-owned public areas. The tree board shall consider,
investigate, make findings, report and make recommendations regarding any special matter or question
coming within the scope of its work.

Introduction and Welcome
The bimonthly meeting of the Yakima Tree Board convened at 5:03 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
Approval of the Meeting Minutes from March 27, 2023
Lance made the motion to approve the previous meeting’s minutes, and Ken seconded the motion.
The motion was passed by consensus.
Public Comment
No public comments were made.
Status of 2023 Community Forestry Assistance Grant Request
It was asked if Public Works had found a replacement for Chip Rognlie, who retired last year. Eric
said he would speak with Scott Schafer to find out the status of hiring a new city arborist.
For the Good of the Order
It was reported that Arbor Fest had a good turnout, and 400 seedlings were given away.
Adjournment
Jheri made the motion, and Lance seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:17 p.m. The next
Yakima Tree Board meeting will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023 in City Council Chambers.
