AN ORDINANCE athending Section 1 of Ordinance No 2 of the City of
Yakima entitled, "AN ORDINANCE fixing the salary and bond
of the City Manager and declaring an emergency," and de-

claring an emergency.
WHEREAS, the previous City Manager, E, J. Allison, died on the
18th day of October, 1960, and
WHEREAS, during the first part of November, 1960, the City Council
of the City of Yakima appointed George D. Smith the City Manager of the
City of Yakima at an annual salary of S14,000.00 per year, and „
part of the emplcyment agreement, agreed to pay the household, moving
expenses for the said George D. Smith from Tacoma, Washington to
Yakima, Washington, said sum not to exceed 3500.00, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No 2 of the City of
Am. - -
Yakima, adopted June 1, 1959, is hereby amended to red as follows,
to-wit:
"Section 1. The sal.ory of the City Manager, beginning
December 1p 1960, is hereby established at 814
Per annum, and the City of Yakima shall pay for the house-
hold moving expenses of George D.. Smith, -the newly appointed
City Manager, from Tacoma, Washington to Yakima Washington,
in a sum not to exceed $500.00."
Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the
people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by
the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 21st day of
