1111, Ami AN ORDINANCE amending Sub-section 1 of Section 14 of Ordinance No
B-65 entitled "AN ORDINANCE providing for the raising of
revenues; licensing public dance hall and cabarets; re-
quiring a permit for public dances and cabarets; regula-
ting public dance halls and cabarets providing for
revocation of licenses and permits issued; providing a
penalty for the violation thereof; repealing Ordinance
A-824 and Ordinance A-243 and all other Ordinances and
parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith and declaring
an emergency," as amended by Ordinance No B-2067, and
declaring an emergency,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That Sub-section 1 of Section 14 of Ordinance No.
B-65, as amended by Ordinance No B-2067, is hereby amended to read as
follows, to-wit:
"1. All public dances and dancing in cabarets and all music
therein shall cease at 2:00 A.M. on all nights except Satur-
day nights on which nights all public dances and dancing in
cabarets and all music therein shall cease at 12:00 o'clock
midnight, and no public dancing or music shall be permitted
• between the closing hours above mentioned and 8:00 A.M. of
the following morning after said dance, and provided that no
public dance nor dancing in cabarets shall be permitted on
Sunday provided, however, that when December 31 shall fall
upon a Saturday, public dances and dancing in cabarets and
all music therein shall be permitted until 2:00 A,M, the
following morning."
Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the
people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by
the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 21st day of
December, 1960.
