AN ORDINANCE amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. B -2057 ntitled
"AN ORDINANCE RELATING to animals or fowls at large or
found in the City of Yakima, contrary to any ordinanc
of the City of Yakima; providing for the taking up
impounding, keeping and disposition of such animals or
fowls; fixing the charges therefor and the disposition
of money received in connection therewith; providing for
a Humane Shelter and the maintenance thereof by the
Yakima County Humane Society; appointing a Poundmaster
under Ordinance No., A -268 as amended by Ordinance No
B -327; declaring certain practices of certain animals
to be public nuisances, defining offenses and prescribing
penalties, and repealing all other ordinances and parts
of ordinances in conflict herewith," and declaring an
emergency.
WHEREAS, at the election held on November 8,, 1960, the people of
the City of Yakima adopted a proposition pertaining to the of
dogs, and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is in the process of implementing .
said proposition, and during the interim period it is necessary that
provision be made for the retention of dog and animal license fees by
the City of Yakima and for the payment for the care and fe of
impounded animals, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No B -2057 is hereby
amended to . read as follows, to-.wit:
"Section 2. The City of Yakima shall sell the dog licenses
provided for by Ordinance No A -268 as amended, and shall
• retain said money in its Current Expense Fund. During
such period as it is necessary, all dogs, cats and other
animals that may be impounded shall be kept and fed at
the Yakima County Humane Society. The City of Yakima
shall pay the Yakima County Humane Society for such
keeping and feeding the sum of $15,00 per day beginning
February and said sum of $15.00 per day from
said date shall be the total money paid by the City of
Yakima to said Yakima County Humane Society for such
service."

ervation of the public peace„ welfare and safety of the people of the
City of Yakima, and an emergency is therefore declared to exist, and
this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage,
approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 8th day of
February 1961.
