R-2025-032 A RESOLUTION opening the 2025-2026 Comprehensive Plan Amendment process pursuant to RCW 36.70A.130, and YMC Ch. 16.10. WHEREAS, The City of Yakima is a First Class City fully planning under the Washington State Growth Management Act RCW 36.70A and WAC 365-196; and WHEREAS, RCW 36.70A.130 and YMC 16.10.030 requires the Yakima City Council to consider annually opening the Comprehensive Plan Amendment process; and WHEREAS, on February 11, 2025, at its study session meeting, the Yakima City Council had discussion regarding the opening of the 2025-2026 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Process; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima is working on their Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update, Comprehensive Plan Amendments for 2025 and 2026 shall be consolidated under the Periodic Update process; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the Comprehensive Plan Amendment process for 2025-2026 Periodic Update should be opened, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City of Yakima hereby opens the Comprehensive Plan Amendment process for the years of 2025 and 2026, and directs both staff and the Planning Commission to hold the required public meeting in February announcing the opening of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment process and acceptance of applications. Furthermore, Council directs both staff and Planning Commission to proceed with processing of all submitted applications and City amendments.
